Philip Floetotto - Thank you!!!

Kevin McNulty: You are welcome. Sorry it took 2 years to get over the finish line :)

Hi all, we are hoping to release our new "Guides" feature in the next release and are looking for some more feedback. You can find a video of the here:
The Golden Spiral is pretty tricky as you have to position it, add scaling, dragging and syncing all that. So for the first iteration we opted to the regular guides and aspect ratios.
You can also edit custom aspect ratios in the project settings - pretty slick :)

Philip Floetottothat's great, thank you! Would be great if we could also have custom save / action zones by entering custom percentages ...

Philippe Stalla: Thanks for the feedback. That's an interesting idea and shouldn't be too hard. Let me discuss internally with the team what we can do.

Philip FloetottoThank you! Really comes from the learning, that there are very different safe areas for different media / devices.

Adding Aspect Ratio and Rule of Thirds is in the works and will be in one of the upcoming releases.
Kevin McNulty - Could you give us an idea how you would like the other overlays to work? We imagine you might want to have an arbitrary grid? But the Fibonacci Sprial - would that be an element you move around the canvas?
Kevin McNulty
Philip Floetotto - Hi Philip. thanks for reaching out! This is wonderful news! If the Fibonacci Spiral (or rule of thirds even) could be moved, that would certainly give users more control to rethink framing in a current shot. When it comes to any kind of software functionality, I've always liked versatility and/or customization. I'd rather have it and not need it, than need it and not have it. When working with students, I can't count the number of times I've had to draw in where the frame should be on a shot (often tighter). I would love a 16:9 (or other aspect ratios) overlay that I could scale uniformly and move around on the frame. Hope this helps!

plus one super mega bump for this.

This would be so great to have especially in remote and hybrid studios where reviews need prepping and there's no on-the-fly summoning of overlays like we have while working from the office.
