Separate Admin Permissions from Product Licenses
Comprehensive Admin permissions should not require the assignment of a paid license! A change in your role/licensing structure is crucial if this product is targeting a business audience. Across most industries, IT staff are required to manage both billing and user access, while very few of them will ever need to use a product like this for their own work. Having to pay more simply for the privilege of doing our jobs is unjust and does not build goodwill. If you haven't heard this feedback before, I guarantee that's because of some combination of the following factors: Some companies are in a financial position to not bat an eye at the extra seat cost (we are not currently in that camp) Most companies and their IT staff just grudgingly accept this model—they're unhappy with it, but haven't taken the time to pipe up Employees are administering the platform themselves, without any IT oversight. This practice—known in the industry as "shadow IT"—is a huge issue for data security and intellectual property protection. Some of your potential customers seek other solutions rather than adopting this platform at all when they discover this limitation. In case the IT administration use case is abstract or unclear, I'll provide more context. When an employee leaves the company, I am required to promptly remove their access to any and all platforms, data stores, and tools used by the company, and to formally document those access removals. If I can't see which employees have access to SyncSketch at any given time, let alone remove that access, I cannot do my job. For the sake of IT staff everywhere (and your company's longterm growth in the business sector), please consider separating administrative permissions from product license allocation.
