SyncSketch User Feedback

It would be incredibly useful to be able to add tracking markers on top of the video which automatically (if possible!) follow objects using pattern recognition and allow us to display the arcs. Frame by frame manual placement of markers would also be useful for difficult-to-track footage. The only way I've found of tracking arcs currently has been to paint dots with the brush frame by frame and then use ghosting to show something resembling the arcs, but this is not ideal.

Hi, my name is Hukun. I’ve been using SyncSketch for a few years, and it’s been incredibly helpful for animators like myself. One feature I’d love to see added is the ability to highlight my main storytelling keys using colors and selectively hide different stages of blocking based on those colors. For instance, if I could assign a color to each stage—blocking, blocking plus, and detailed blocking plus—and then hide or reveal each stage as needed, it would make the workflow much smoother. This way, I could plan each phase in advance, study my reference thoroughly, and focus on my key poses without being distracted by too many keys on the screen. Having the ability to hide keys by color, along with hiding their markers on the timeline, would be a fantastic improvement.

We use Slack in our org, and we frequently post links to new Sync Sketch reviews. It would be very handy if the link included an image preview of the review. Especially when there are multiple links in a thread, it's hard to find the relevant one

Ability to select multiple files and download originals all at one time.

It would be helpful to have access to the new sections feature using the python api, for cases where a user may want to programmatically generate a syncsketch playlist with sections

Allow Custom Approval Statuses beyond Approved/Reviewed/In Progress/On Hold... just being able to pick a custom status color would be very helpful to denote specific things in our pipeline.

As per title, add sections to notes to be able to group notes/comments by priority. Expand/Collapse as well to help with grouping of resolved notes etc..

Have a dedicated app, instead of accessing via the browser on an iPad

Importing the "Item notes" from SyncSketch's .csv files into Excel still doesn't work properly. The columns are not created correctly by default, because it doesn't know the delimiter to use. This is easily fixed by adding "sep=<delimeter>" in the first line of the file and Excel correctly creates the columns. sep=, COLUMN1,COLUMN2 data1,data2 ...

Currently most of the exposed python calls return the whole instance of an object with all the data included, e.g. get get_reviews_by_project_id, while one can specify the return fields via the "fields" key inside the _get_json_response call getData dictionary. Already speed-wise it makes sense to reduce the DB requests to fetch only what is needed, so an optional parameter to define return fields is a reasonable request. You can just pass on the list to the underlying getData parameter, maybe enforce that the ID is always present and ignore non-existing keys. That would be perfect to have already built-in instead of us using the protected/hidden _get_json_response call directly. Seems like a simple fix, which would also reduce console spamming when doing command line maintenance besides optimising script requests.
