It would be very useful if we could crop or add frames to the video, so that we could “edit” the timing of the video.

SO MUCH THIS! Even quicktime from 2008 had this feature. I still use quicktime to do this sometimes lol

this is very useful we would do this earlier in quicktime player , an easy way to show timing to the artists

Qixotics Patak ahaha ditto. Also QT is a great way to quickly export img sequence from vid to import to maya for ref compares.

in addition, it would be cool to retime a selection of the video in a similar way to isolating a playback section. An example is making frames 30-60 play at 1.5x speed while the rest of the video plays at 1x speed.
