This would be very highly desired, in fact starting where the video frame was left would be great, but perhaps even a marker that can be set by the presenter so they can come back to it at a later time.

That's a good suggestion, thank you. We'll look into implementing that.
In the meantime, you might want to explore Compare mode, where you can A/B two clips and toggle between them with Ctrl-A.
